Guided Fishing Trips
Half and whole day guided fishing on Lower Jo Mary lake. Depending upon the time of year, you may catch bass, trout, salmon, chain pickerel, white perch, or togue. Our guide will prepare you for an unforgettable experience. The fish are plentiful in the big lake as there is no road access. Gear and snacks provided.
Remote heritage pond fishing is a whole day or multi day experience*. Our guide will transport you to one of our favorite remote ponds. Depending upon your needs the trip may include fly fishing from a float tube or canoe. There are some sizable and feisty trout in these ponds!

Drift boat trips on the West Branch of the Penobscot River

Winter Ice-fishing
Whole day guided fishing on Middle or Lower Jo Mary lake. Depending upon the time of year, you may catch bass, trout, salmon, chain pickerel, white perch, or togue. Our guide will prepare you for an unforgettable experience. The fish are plentiful in the big lake as there is no road access. Traps, auger, and tent provided.

Smallmouth Bass
Just walk out of your cabin to the lakeshore and cast, bang you have hooked a smallmouth bass. The Jo Mary lakes have quietly become an exciting destination for this high-flying sport fish. We have had customers set their rod down and say, “enough” or this is the most bass they’ve ever caught. If that doesn’t sound fun just picture being the only person on an entire lake catching these wild fighting bass. And a short walk we have 2 lakes to fish so you won’t be bored. We have seen 4lb fish caught and there are bigger ones out there. Fish from canoes kayaks or rent a boat. Guided fishing is available as well.
Salmon
If you are coming for salmon then you’re already aware of what you are in for. These silver bullets will give you all the action you would want. When these fish come out of the water everyone in the boat will explode with delight, then the fight is on. Salmon will delight from the catch to the stories that last a lifetime.
Trout
With an endless number of ponds, lakes, and streams you will find Brook Trout lurking everywhere. The North Maine Woods boasts many heritage ponds to fish which are native unstocked waters with Brookies. We have canoes at some of the ponds or maybe try a float tube. However you get out there, it’s worth it for the trout, the scenery, and the peace you will feel enjoying Maines most famous fish.
White Perch
You’ve heard of fish by the bucketful? Well, they must have been talking about one of Maines’s tastiest fish, the White Perch. These can be caught in the lakes right at Buckhorn or other surrounding ponds. This delicacy will make for one amazing fish fry, and who wouldn’t go for a fish fry by the campfire.
